Prof. Batliner has been working as a lawyer and trustee with his own chambers in Liechtenstein since 1954. He was the President of the "Verwaltungsbeschwerdeinstanz" (the Administrative Court) from 1965 to 1970 and the President of the High Court of State from 1975 – 1980. In 1969, he became honorary Senator of the Leopold-Franzens-Universität of Innsbruck and, in 1994, of the University of Salzburg. In 1988, he was given the title of "Fürstlicher Kommerzienrat" (an honorary title conferred on business magnates and financiers). In 1989, he was granted an Honorary Professorship of the Republic of Austria.
